Practical Flow Assurance is a three-day intensive course that covers everything an engineer needs to know in order to understand and assess the impact of the three most frequently occurring flow assurance phenomena in oil and gas facilities: Hydrates, Waxes, and Asphaltenes. This FA class provides engineers know-how and tools that enable them to operate oil and gas production facilities in order to prevent or mitigate the above three flow assurance problems.
Practical Flow Assurance Objectives:
- Present case histories of the three most frequently occurring flow assurance problems in oil and gas industry: Hydrates, Waxes, and Asphaltenes.
- Present the important concepts of P-T Diagram, Wax Deposition Envelope (WDE), Asphaltene Deposition Envelope (ADE), and Hydrate Envelope (HE) and how they impact flow assurance design and operation of oil and gas facilities.
- Present laboratory data and methodology of real cases that are being used to diagnose and predict the occurrence of the above three flow assurance problems.
- Present cutting-edge but practical chemical testing ideas and methods for the above three FA problems.
- Present correlations and methodologies that enable engineers to develop tuning targets of multiphase flow assurance simulators utilizing ordinary laboratory data in order to predict the occurrence of the above three flow assurance problems.
- Apply/Implement the above ideas included in Items 1-5 on three real problems brought in class by the Attendees. Attendees are requested to bring with them data of a production facility that is undergoing wax, or asphaltene, or hydrate problems.
Practical Flow Assurance Outline:
- The course manual is custom-designed to minimize or virtually eliminate note taking
- Flow assurance problems in oil and gas industry: Hydrates, Waxes, and Asphaltenes
